May 25, 2020 - It's a Girl!! (Week 62) - Susquehanna, PA

Hello Everyone!

It is a beautiful day here at the Priesthood Restoration site and all of the trees are starting to get their green leaves back. Yay for no more naked trees!

This week we got 2 new sisters and I have the opportunity to train one! My new companion is Sister Gold and she is the cutest sister EVER!!!! She is from Montana and has been a member of the church for 5 years! She is so good at taking tours and so I've definitely been blessed with the best. But don't worry Hermana Rodriguez, I still miss you a ton!💕

We went to this beautiful waterfall on Thursday and the Senior Couples prepared a picnic for us! We roasted hot dogs over the fire and it was so much fun. I really miss going camping. Email me back if you want to plan a fun camping trip for when I get home haha.

This week I learned a lot about relying on Jesus Christ. I will really be honest with y'all and say that this has probably been the hardest week that I have had on my mission. This whole quarantine thing is really getting to me. But, through Jesus Christ and all that he went through we can be lifted. Elder Holland said this super amazing quote about Jesus Christ's suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane. He said, "Christ even felt alone, but even though He felt alone

God was never closer to HIs Son than at that time." It really helped me realize that God absolutely NEVER leaves us.

I love you all and so does God!!

May 18, 2020 - Lil Creatures! (Week 61) - Susquehanna, PA

Hello!! This week I was able to cross some things off of my bucket list!

So this week I held a chipmunk!! So quick story. There was the cutest little baby chipmunk that was nicely frolicking through the grass and I decided that I wanted to catch it. Well, this chipmunk was not very fast so I scooped him up and got to hold him! He was very furry and very soft. I highly suggest holding a chipmunk if you can. Just don't get bitten.

Some other exciting news is that we are getting sisters!! All of us here at the PRS are so so excited!

This last Friday (May 15th) was the restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood and so we had a nice celebration that day. It really made me think about how blessed we truly are to have the priesthood in all of our lives. There would literally be no way to make it back to heaven if it wasn't for the priesthood. I just want you all to ponder that for a minute.

Have a flipping amazing week!!!

May 11, 2020 - Island Vibezzz (Week 60) - Susquehanna, PA

Happy Monday to all of my family and friends! (and most importantly Mayte)

First off, the weather this week has literally been bipolar!! Last Sunday the weather was so beautiful and then on Saturday it ended up snowing. What the heck Pennsylvania!!!

On Friday my mission had the amazing opportunity of hearing from Elder D. Todd Christofferson, Elder Vai Sikahema, and Elder Peter M. Johnson and let me just tell you that oh my those men are so inspired! The greatest thing they said was that the Lord's work keeps moving forward. God is not in quarantine and God in no way is surprised. He is there all the way!

Sister Rodriguez and I had the bright idea of learning the Haka this week and it has been going decently well. We still don't know the words but we got the dance part down mostly haha.

We have been taking lots and lots of tours still. The work here never slows down! These next 100 days are honestly going to fly by so fast!!

I hope you are all doing well and not going too crazy!

Love you all!

Sister Larsen

May 4, 2020 - "Oh, thanks! I've ALWAYS wanted a drone!" (Week 59) - Susquehanna, PA

Hello beautiful friends and family!

Today is a great day because guess what!?!? IT'S STAR WARS DAY!!

May the Fourth be With You!

We took some AMAZING tours this week!

We took a super cute family on tour from the Philippines. They were so nice and friendly. I was also able to take a family on tour from Brazil. It has really touched me to see how grateful these people are to have the chance to see the sites even though it may not be in person. They always say how they wouldn't have a chance to make it in person and the spirit honestly has no bounds. They can still receive a witness from the Holy Ghost from thousands of miles away.

But since it is Star Wars day I figured I'd share a nice spiritual thought related to Star Wars.

"At the very End of 'Return of the Jedi', just when it seemed all hope was lost, something incredible happened. Darth Vader, the long standing antagonist of the series, sacrifices himself to save his son and defeat the emperor. Vader thought he was too far gone to ever find redemption. He had done so many terrible things, betrayed so many people. How could he ever be forgiven?

Luke, on the other hand, never lost faith in Vader. In fact, he believed so strongly he was willing to pay the ultimate price for his forgiveness. There are many people like Darth Vader who look back on their mistakes and think it's too late, but they are wrong. It doesn't matter how far we've strayed or how mangled we've become, Jesus gave his life so we could be forgiven."

Shout out to Bryce for sending this to me. THANKS!!!

I hope  you enjoy your week! I Love you all!!
