HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!💙❤
I have survived another scorching hot week in good old
Woodstown, New Jersey! The humidity here is insane! It has been so hot this
week. Our car even overheated and we were stranded on the side of the road
haha. I am with my new companion Sister Lasson. Everyone is like what the heck
when we tell them our names, it is actually pretty funny!
Sister Lasson is so awesome! She is sweet, kind, and
seriously the most down to earth person I have ever met. She is basically a
real life Disney princess.
This week I had my first official wooder ice as the people
on the east coast call it. I would for sure give it a 10/10 and recommend it to
everyone. It's some very good stuff!
So funny story, yesterday Sister Lasson and I were walking
back to our car and a man across the street asked us if we were Jehovah's
Witness. We told him no and that we belonged to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He couldn't really hear us though so we crossed the street
and talked to him. We started talking to him about the Book of Mormon, but he
just paused and looked at me for a bit. I was very confused and so he just
says, "are you Spanish?" I was like, "yes I'm Hispanic." I
didn't really think much of it, because lots of people can see a little bit of
something in me. But he said, "yeah, you don't really look like it, but I
could tell by your accent." So I guess I have an accent. I don't know what
it sounds like, but it is there.
So I finished the Book of Mormon yesterday for the first
time of my mission. I love the Book of Mormon so much! I have found so many
answers in it while I have been on my mission. It makes me think of the quote,
"if we want to talk to God we pray, but if we want God to talk to us we
read the scriptures." That I seriously the most true thing I have come to
learn these past 4 months. I know that God for sure answers prayers through the
Book of Mormon.
So, if you haven't been reading, start reading the Book of
Mormon. Or continue to read it because it will bless your life so much! God has
given it because He loves us and wants us to receive answers.
