March 26, 2019 - Week 2 - MTC

Hey everyone! Life at the MTC is going I guess. Everyday is basically the same and it's getting pretty repetitive. I officially only have one more week here until I hop on a plane to Philly!! I cannot wait to finally get out into the mission field! Nothing very exciting happened this week and it was pretty uneventful. We taught this guy named Joseph and things went so good! He is super interested in learning about the gospel and I wish we could keep teaching him. Hopefully the next missionaries that teach him do some good stuff. I've been loving missionary life! This has honestly probably been the best decision I've ever made! It obviously hasn't been the easiest but it has been the greatest. These two short weeks that I have been here have helped me so much! I can finally see myself starting to become the person I want to be. If any of you are trying to decide if you want to go on a mission, GO! I've only been out for a short two weeks but they have been the greatest. I am finally starting to move forward and progress. I remember people always telling me to go on a mission because it will change my life. I couldn't see it then, but now that I'm experiencing it for myself it has changed my life. I know it's only been two weeks but so far they have been some of the best two weeks! This week in the Book of Mormon I was reading in Mosiah about Abinidi. I love the story of Abinidi and how even though King Noah was going to kill him, he didn't take back anything that he believed in. He stood firm in his faith and wouldn't deny Christ. I would like to encourage all of you to read the Book of Mormon daily. It has changed my life so much and I promise you that as you read it, it will change your life and you will become close to Christ. I hope you all have a fantastic week!

March 19, 2019 - Week 1 - MTC

Hey everyone!! One week down in the MTC only 2 more to go! I really can't believe I survived this first week. This week has felt like it has been forever long! Honestly nothing exciting has really happened.  Some days seem to go by so fast and others seem to go by so slow. Each day there are so many classes and meetings. Today is such a relief to be able to just take a break from all that stuff. Wednesday was for sure a shocker. But now that things have settled down I am feeling a lot better about this place. It's a little overwhelming learning all the new things but hopefully by week 3 I'll be able to feel more confident.  I honestly cannot wait to get to Pennsylvania! Everyone in my district is honestly the best. The Elders are so fun but still spiritually strong. I get along with all of the sisters and we spend so much time together talking. I love my companion, she is the sweetest person ever! Her name is Sister Reynolds and neither of us are any good at making decisions. So I'll just say that it takes a while for us to get anywhere.  Sunday was honestly probably my favorite day so far. We watched a devotional by Elder Bednar. He talked about the character of Christ and turning outwards when we would normally turn inwards. It really gave me a new perspective and I really want to become better. Sister Reynolds and I taught our first person yesterday and let's just say it was a good learning experience. We have another lesson tomorrow so let's hope that it goes a lot better. From this short week being here I have seen so much growth in myself. I have felt my confidence grow and my testimony has been strengthened so much. I have loved being able to read the Book of Mormon. It has given me so much strength while I have been here. This week I have for sure relied a lot on the scripture 1 Nephi 4:6. I have really relied on the spirit so much this week. I had an experience when we were teaching that I honestly didn't know what to say. I just opened my mouth and all of a sudden I knew exactly what to say and the spirit filled my mouth. I can testify that the spirit guides you in all things. I know that as we strive to have the spirit in our lives, we will be able to be led and continue on the path to eternal life.

I love you all!
